President’s Message

Since our founding, we have worked to develop photo emulsions and capillary films that can be developed with water to lessen impact on the environment, and in 1985 we developed “PVA-SBQ photopolymer (lphoto emulsion and capillary film for high-precision screen printing)” which received the 10th Inoue Harushige Prize. In 2002, we successfully developed a new photosensitive group (“active energy ray resin composite”) and obtained a patent. Both of these are photo emulsions and capillary films that develop with water, and we have continued to develop many environmentally-friendly products.
Going forward, we will continue to actively engage in green business and strive to develop products that protect the global environment

Basic Approach and Priority Issues

Basic approach

Our business activities will be guided by the basic approach of strengthening E (Environmental), S (Social), and G (Governance).

Issues to be addressed by Murakami

In the Murakami Group, we have previously worked through separate organizations and groups, e.g., the ISO Executive Committee handling “Environmental,” the Human Resources Department handling “Social,” and the Board of Directors handling “Governance.” In order for the entire Murakami Group, including overseas subsidiaries and affiliated companies, to implement ESG management, a need has arisen for establishing a department with cross-cutting general oversight over the entire group organization.

Guidelines for addressing issues

We will establish an ESG Promotion Committee at our Head Office, with the Representative Director and President as Chair, periodically check the actual status of the Murakami Group’s environmental, social, and governance management, clarify the issues that arise in that context, connect that with improvement actions, and fulfill our social responsibility with the aim of abiding by our management philosophy, and creating a sustainable society.
